Happy 4th of July

Well here I am. I got lucky and managed to get July 4,5, and 6th off. My son turns 8 tomorrow....no way he can be that old yet. Haven't really had anything to blog about since January. News is depressing, this year's election appears to be between a Democrat and a Democrat hiding as a Republican. A man that shot 2 guys robbing his neighbor's house is told that he won't be indited but he will have a civil suit against him by the family of the illels he shot.

However there is some good stuff happening. Guitar Hero:Aerosmith was released yesterday. I'm gainfully employed, wife and kid are in town with me for the summer. So I guess things aren't so bad.

The winds, they are a'changing

Been awhile I know, real life, along with Mass Effect and Rock Band, have been keeping me busy.

I've been watching the Iowa caucus tonight and I have to admit that I'm a little scared of the democrats. I am NOT a democrat but I'm not a republican either. I semi-jokingly call a left wing-rightest. The democrats have claimed that the people of Iowa voted for change. Well the democratic change frightens me. I am against socialized medicine which is a corner stone of the demos, I like being able to go to the doc same day I make an appointment, the most successful socialized medicine program in the world is Canada, you make an appointment and you have to wait 2 weeks to see the doc.

Their plan for reducing dependency on foreign oil is to develop alternate forms of energy, a plan that can take years if not decades to come to fruition. Short term we need to open up the east coast and the cost of Florida for oil drilling. Alaska is also a prime location for oil production. Build more nuclear reactors for electricity would be a big step too.

Global warming. For every scientist that says it is real, there is another one that says it doesn't. Nuff said.

Hillary stated that we needed a president that realized Military Force is a method of last resort, not first resort......What were we suppose to do? Give Saddam ANOTHER 11 years. She said we were attacked by a foreign power....Al Quada isn't a foreign power. It is a radical quasi-religious group with no official ties with any country.

Obama announced that we told the lobbyist that they no longer controlled the government, the people did. How much money did he take from the lobbyists and unions I wonder?

The changes that need to be made, in my not so humble opinion are as follows,

1. Open up the Florida coast and Alaska for oil drilling.

2. Give the military the authority to wage the war in Iraq and Afghanistan the way it should be done. Drop the hammer and wipe the insurgents out once and for all. Then and only then bring the troops home.

3. Choke off the borders and change the Social Security card into a full blown Federal ID card. It's time to demagnetize America.

4. Pass legislation that makes accepting money from lobbyists and unions illegal and force candidates to fund their own campaigns with contributions only coming from private INDIVIDUALS and some form of matching from the government to put the candidates on a level playing field.

I know I have a better chance of getting a contact high off of coke cola than any of these changes taking place but they would make a bigger difference than the ones the demos are talking about now.
